The body is a rigid cylinder with a flanged rim, joined to the grip by a flexible hose made not to kink, so the pressure you draw stays where you put it. The pump sits under the fingers rather than in the palm, which keeps each squeeze short and controlled, and a one-way valve holds the vacuum until the quick release lets it go.
