Condoms sold in every quantity from a three-pack to a bag of 288. The price per condom falls sharply as the box gets bigger.

What the quantity actually costs you

The arithmetic is stark. A three-pack of Control Adapta costs more than four times as much per condom as the 288-unit Pasante bag — the big bag works out at less than a quarter of the price each.

The saving is real, but it is only a saving if you use them.

Expiry is the limit on buying big

Condoms carry an expiry date, typically three to five years from manufacture, and the date on the box you receive will be shorter than that.

So the sensible question is not "what is cheapest per unit" but "how many will I use in three years". Buy more than that and you are buying condoms you will throw away, which is not a saving.

Storage matters too. Heat and friction degrade latex faster than time does — a wallet is the classic mistake. Keep them cool, dark and in the original wrapper.

Choosing a tier

Boxes of 3 — for testing a size or a brand before committing.

Boxes of 4 to 24 — the everyday box. Enough to have a supply, small enough to use before it ages.

Boxes from 30 to 288 — where the per-unit price drops properly.

Fit before quantity

The most expensive mistake here is buying 144 of the wrong size. Nominal width — the flat width in millimetres — is what determines fit, and standard condoms are 52–54 mm. Too narrow slips and breaks; too wide slides off.

The My Size Pro and Mister Size three-packs exist precisely so you can find your width before buying volume. Both ranges then sell the same width in boxes of 100.

Mixed packs

Assortments like the Skins Multi Flavors 16 and the Skins Dots & Ribs 8 vary type, not width. They are a good way to find out whether textured or flavoured suits you — they will not help you find a size.

Is bulk always cheaper?

Per unit, yes. Overall, only if you use them before the expiry date.

Do condoms in a big bag store as well as boxed ones?

Each condom is individually wrapped either way. The bag is packaging, not protection — what matters is keeping them cool and dark.

How do I know what size I need?

Measure the circumference of the erect penis at its widest and halve it. That gives an approximate nominal width. Then buy a three-pack of the nearest size.

What if I only need a few?

A three-pack. There is no minimum, and buying a box of 144 "to be efficient" is not efficient if it expires.
