What distinguishes the LELO shelf is how much of it is external. Pressure-wave stimulators, handheld massagers and rings outnumber the insertable toys, and nearly everything is moulded in body-safe silicone.

Clitoral stimulators make up the largest part of the range, including air-pulse models that stimulate with waves of pressure rather than contact — some of them with no vibration at all. Around them sit G-spot and rabbit vibrators, anal vibrators, vibrating rings worn by couples during sex, and weighted kegel balls with interchangeable weights. The brand also supplies a small care line that we stock alongside the toys: condoms, a personal moisturiser, a water-based lubricant and an antibacterial spray for cleaning silicone.

Controls are deliberately sparse — most pieces are driven by one or two buttons rather than a row of switches. Many charge over USB instead of taking batteries, and a number of the couples models are steered with a wireless remote, so a partner can take over. Where an item is waterproof, the product page says so explicitly.
