Two densities in one sleeve: a firmer outer shell to hold and a softer lining inside it, which is why the grip stays steady while the chamber itself gives. The inner walls are ribbed along their length and the far end is closed, so pressure rises as you work and eases when you loosen your hold. The two-tone finish follows the same split.

A water-based lubricant preserves the TPE; anything else shortens its life.
Wash the TPE with a mild unscented soap and let it dry completely before storage. Stored against other soft toys it picks up marks, so give it a spot of its own.
