Restraint, control and sensation play: steel collars, starter bondage kits, chastity devices and pressure clamps. These are pieces for people who have talked it through first — what is on the table, what is not, and how either person says stop.

Before you start

  • Agree a safeword, or a hand signal if speaking is not possible, and stop the moment it is used.
  • A collar is for holding and leading, never for pressure on the throat.
  • Keep keys, and safety scissors for rope, within reach before anything is locked or tied.
  • Check hands and feet often for cold, tingling or numbness, and release at the first sign.
  • Clamps and magnets restrict blood flow: keep sessions short, and expect a strong sensation when they come off.
  • Magnets are never inserted or swallowed, and are kept away from pacemakers and other implanted devices.

Care

Metal wipes clean with warm, soapy water and should be dried fully; rope and fabric are washed by hand.
