An automatic masturbator does the movement for you. That is the whole distinction: with a manual stroker your hand supplies the rhythm, and with these a motor does, which changes the experience less through intensity than through the fact that you are not steering it.

This is the expensive end of the shop.

Four mechanisms

Almost every device here uses one of four, or combines two. Knowing which you want narrows the shelf to a handful.

Suction

A pump creates and releases pressure inside the sleeve. Nothing moves along the shaft; the sensation is pulsing rather than stroking, and most people describe it as closer to oral than to a hand.

PDX Elite Suck-O-Matic is the clearest example — intermittent suction paired with vibration. Kiiroo PocketBlow pairs a compact sleeve with Kiiroo's separate suction unit, which is the same idea sold as two pieces.

Thrusting

A motor drives the sleeve up and down. This is the closest mechanical analogue to a stroking hand, and it is the mechanism with the widest range of speeds.

Jamyjob Vortex offers ten thrust modes and adds rotation on top.

Rotation

The sleeve turns as well as, or instead of, moving. It produces a twisting sensation a hand cannot easily reproduce.

Jamyjob Blow-R combines thrusting with rotation; Pretty Love Kahleah does the same at a lower price.

Vibration only

No movement at all — just motors against the tissue. This is the smallest and least understood group, and the one most likely to suit someone who finds the larger devices too much.

Fun Factory Cobra Libre II is the reference model: it covers the glans only rather than the shaft, with two motors and eleven rhythms.

Heating

A separate axis from the mechanism. Some devices warm the sleeve to roughly body temperature before or during use, which changes the first few seconds more than anything else does.

Snail Vibe Ikon Jet combines heating with thrusting. Heating adds cost and a warm-up wait, so it is worth deciding whether it matters to you before paying for it.

Devices that sync with what you are watching

Kiiroo's interactive range responds to video or to a partner's device rather than to a preset pattern. Kiiroo Interactive Controller is the controller for that ecosystem, and the Keon phone holder is a phone mount — the cheapest thing on this page, and only useful if you already own the device it clamps to.

Read the compatibility notes on the individual product before buying an accessory. Not everything in this range works with everything else.

What the price actually buys

  • At the bottom — one mechanism, usually manual or simple vibration. Jamyjob Cassian is a straightforward cup; Romp Dash gives you suction you control yourself rather than by motor.
  • In the middle — one motorised mechanism done properly, rechargeable, usually washable sleeve.
  • At the top — two or three mechanisms combined, app control, heating, or an open design you can see through, like the PDX Elite Moto Bator X.

The jump from the bottom to the middle buys more than the jump from the middle to the top.

Sleeves, and cleaning them

Almost all of these use a soft inner sleeve in TPE, TPR or silicone, inside a rigid ABS shell. The sleeve is the part that matters for feel and the part that needs the work afterwards.

  • Rinse it immediately. Anything left to dry inside a textured sleeve is far harder to remove later.
  • Most sleeves come out for washing. Check whether yours does before you buy — devices with fixed sleeves are cheaper and considerably more annoying.
  • Dry fully before storing, and store the sleeve out of the shell if it detaches.
  • A toy cleaner is worth having for anything with deep texture.

Use a water-based lubricant rather than silicone lubricant if the sleeve is silicone, and be generous — these are far less forgiving of insufficient lubricant than a hand.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this and a normal stroker?

The motor. A manual masturbator does the same job with your hand supplying the movement, at a fraction of the price. If you have never used a stroker at all, start there.

Are they quiet?

Not silent. Suction devices are the loudest, vibration-only the quietest, thrusting in between. None of the product descriptions here give decibel figures, so treat any claim of silence with scepticism.

How long does the battery last?

Most are USB rechargeable and quote twenty to sixty minutes of continuous use. Heating drains considerably faster than vibration.

Can two people use one?

Not without replacing the sleeve. TPE and TPR are porous and cannot be fully sterilised, which is the main practical argument for choosing a model with a removable, replaceable sleeve.

Where else should I look?

penis accessories for rings and extensions, or the wider For Him range.
